Upgrade Your Bean Dip
Mmmmm....hummus.....think of it as an exotic bean dip. It's mainly smashed
chickpeas, with a few other ingredients and some spices added in. This is one of my favorite snacks, and it's healthy too. I dip into it with hearty wheat-free crackers.
Not all hummus is alike. You need a good brand. The brand I buy is Athenos, and my favorite flavors are the spicy ones -- Roasted Red Pepper and Spicy Three Pepper. They're available at Kroger and Albertson's.
Another brand that I LOVE is Sabra. However, I haven't found it at the stores that I go to. I've heard that it is available at Costco, and it may just be worth a Costco membership. Friends Bob and Margaret feed this to me when I visit them, and it is GOOD! I have tasted some brands that I don't like so much.
Now, I must say that I've never gotten Dear Hubby to even put it near his mouth....if he ever tasted it, he'd love it too. He thinks it looks like "camel crap". I don't want to know how he knows that.
