Death & Dark Chocolate

This week the eldest member of our church, Lloyd, went to be with the Lord. Sunday he was at church, and thankfully I got one last hug. Monday morning, he was gone. He was 98. That's the way to go!

I was thinking about how I'd like to go on to eternal life. My first choice would be to meet the Lord in the air (at Rapture time). My second choice: I would be about 105, with my wits about me, doing something fun with my great-great-great-grandchildren (bowling? kickboxing? frolicking on the beach?), and a big chunk of dark chocolate melting in my cheek. They'd find me with chocolate dribbling out my mouth and a smile on my face.

This occurred to me the other night when Dear Hubby was driving and we were crossing a highway. We had just had a wonderful dinner out -- Mexican food - with good friends. Out of the corner of my eye, it looked like a truck was coming right at us. And this thought flashed across my mind: "At least I have chocolate in my mouth!" Too funny.

You know, sometimes the Lord grants us the desires of our hearts....so might as well make them known...
