Use up Those Gift Cards!


I received an e-mail from my friend Dabney with the following list of companies that will be closing all or part of their stores. If you have a gift card from one of these stores, it's time to put it to use! And I would seriously consider NOT giving gift cards this year, unless you know it's from a company that won't go under....is there such a thing?

If this is all true, and I have verification on some of it, things are even worse economically than I had thought.

Hi Debi--
My sister, Sharon in FW, mentioned your list of stores that are closing. I checked out the Talbots website (www.thetalbotsinc.com) and they have a letter from the CEO stating that it is not true. Snopes goes through the list and comments on each company. Some are true, some are not.

I was sure you'd want to know.
